I have not seen too many Wavellite specimen which are as translucent and yellow as this. These from the High Down quarry are famous for there beauty and sometimes yellow color as this specimen has. High Down quarry is the type locality for Wavellite. The crystal groups occur as hemispheres from 8 to 12mm across. The light gives the radial aggregates a glowing yellow color and the cross-sections exhibit the radial natures of the crystals. Undoubtedly one of the better specimens of Wavellite you will find on the market.

This is a bluish green, very nice and glittery Wavellite "ball" to 2.2cm across with a few showing cross-sections on the side. It is not as blue as the photos show.
