Fantastic double Quartz specimen with several Japan-law twins to the main crystal. The large crystal is 4cm and has slight knick to the termination. The smaller crystals twinned to the main are about 8mm. Sits well by itself perfectly.

Deep purple amethyst Quartz group with the largest crystal at 2.5cm. There are of course natural imperfections including internal "feathering" and skeletal growth on one of the crystals. There is also some color zoning to light purple, clear and a bit of smokiness. A fine miniature. Collected by the late Chris van Laer.

A great specimen for those who study pegmatites. The specimen is from the Dr. David London collection with his personal collection tag. It is also photographed in London's book "Pegmatites" on page 137, fig. 8-10.
In the book, it is described as: "A piece of graphic granite in which portions of Quartz rods have been etched away while elsewhere the surface is covered with euhedral crystals of smoky Quartz that are oriented according to the graphic graphic Quartz substrate....."
The Quartz crystals are up to 3cm. Number on specimen matches collection label.
