- Type Locality
A large (1lb 2oz) specimen of purplish rose bronzy Renierite. This is an excellent large piece, which is for the most part unattainable these days. This is type locality and comes with a Gilbert Gauthier tag.
Renierite is a chief ore of germanium. Germanium is used in solid-state electronics in amplifiers and oscillators. It is added to tin to increase hardness, and improves the strength of aluminum and manganese alloys.
