Shiny oil-black botryoidal Hematite totally covering one side of iron rich Hematitic matrix. The other labels with this specimen say this is Goethite, which the botryoidal form would also indicate, however the streak is red-brown confirming Hematite. Neat piece!

This is easily a specimen which belongs in a museum. The classic botryoidal or reniform habit is very attractive. Half the specimen is another habit, still botryoidal but dull and draws a sharp distinction from the other half. No damage, sits flat, a classic locality.
