Dioside is a common rock-forming mineral and is usually found in matrix as smaller 1cm or less crystals. This specimen however, is collector quality. It is a single doubly terminated crystal with excellent shape and terminations.

There are two good sized green, terminated crystals on this specimen with Quartz. The smaller one is best and very lustrous. The larger is internally fractured. Formerly in the collection of Barbara Cureton. Excellent specimen from a long forgotten locality.
