Axinite #24129
Le Bourg D'oisans, Dauphine, France
Chemical Formula: Ca2Fe++Al2BO3Si4O12(OH)
Size: Miniature

This aesthetic Axinite is composed of several translucent crystals with brilliant luster and good deep brown color. All the crystals are knife edge sharp and sparkle from the subtle striations. Each crystal shows classic Axinite bladed habit, the largest to 2cm. There is minor, less than 0.4mm micro chipping along a few of the edges. But try finding one of these Axinites, form this locality without chipping! The specimen has a sawed base allowing it to sit flat. The matrix is composed of Quartz with micro Epidote crystals. Hard to acquire locality. Comes with five labels confirming provenance. Ex-Phil Scalisi collection.

Overall: 5 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm
Available
$675.00
