A funny, light weight, white to cream colored, triangular-shaped crystal of alleged Monetite. I cast doubt since a similar crystal is tagged as Newberyite on Mindat. Maybe it is both since the outer edge is harder than the interior white. I do know, you are not likely to collect this material yourself, since it originated from Paoha Island at the center of Mono Lake. This area is one of my favorite places on Earth. Bridgeport, a cool western town is nearby. It is often the coldest place in the country, but the views are fantastic. Nearby there are hot springs, Yosemite, and Bodie, an incredibly preserved old western mining town.

The specimen came through Mineralogical Research Company run by Eugene and Sharon Cisneros, icons of the mineral trade. They acquired it from the late Jack Parnau.
