Announcements
Important Announcement: The "RESERVE" time for specimens in your shopping cart has been changed from 1 Hour to 20 minutes. New Dakota Micro Bags were posted Jan. 8, 2009. Click Here. In October 2008, we picked up a large collection composed of mostly southwest, USA. It's an amazingly large collection of mostly flats and flats of self collected material. The collection belonged to Venice and Gerald Jungles. More on this later!!!! On June 12, 2008 Dakota Matrix switched servers. DakotaQ of Rapid City is our new host. As a result, the database which drives the website has been upgraded. You should see a significant improvement in the speed of the website. In the near future, we will redesign our website to further improve upon it's functionality. On Jan. 27, we posted 12 Mineral lists. You can see these lists (all text) by clicking on the GOLD link called "Mineral Lists". These lists are small lots of minerals, usually 15 individual specimens from various localities. Some of the specimens will be very good, some will be so-so. The price reflects the overall quality. Mostly, the specimens are good representative locality specimens. New Micro Bags were added on Jan. 27. Get them while they are HOT!! We will be participating in John Veevaert's Mineral-Auctions.com
sometime starting in October. If you've been watching these auctions, you undoubtedly have seen some fantastic mineral specimens go for easy money. New to this Website?
Here are some tips for you:
- Between the "Daily Five" and our Weekly Updates, we update more than any other website on the Internet. We post at least 36 New Additions at least once per week. Usually it's on Thursdays at 8AM USA Mountain Time. Click here for a time conversion. However sometimes the update is on Tuesday or Wednesday. These are Scheduled updates that are shown as one of the linked mineral photos above and published on the New Addition Galleries. Just look at the dates above and click on the link below the date or the photo above it. New Addition pages provide a means for you to see what has been posted without flipping through all the Galleries. However, see below.....
- We don't always announce the New Addition updates via email. I don't like annoying you all the time with emails. You get enough spam. That's why we schedule our updates.
- Every so often we launch a surprise update and publish these on the New Addition pages. No saying when that is, but you'll know when it happened by looking at the update notices above.
- We also upload about 5 minerals per day to various galleries that ARE NOT on the New Addition Galleries. If you just feel like browsing the Galleries, you will find new minerals posted everyday in the Under/Over$50 and Rare Mineral Galleries. We do this because if you are new to the site, been away on vacation or whatever, we want you too to find good stuff rather than having missed out on the recent updates to the New Addition pages. So if you saw a mineral you missed out on in a recent update, check the galleries. You can also use the search engine if you have a specific mineral in mind.
- We offer bulk mineral deals occasionally via email. Click here to see examples. If you are interested in these, ask to get on our email list.
- We also offer basic, representative minerals on a text listing. Click here to view these text listings. We do not take photos of these. They are good minerals but we like to keep the price down therefore we don't like to put too much time and effort into them.
- We participate on Mineral-Auctions.com.
- To Order please use the shopping cart. It's a three step process, so be sure to check out by clicking on the last link to send order. If you don't like the shopping you can email us your order. But beware, someone may "scoop" that specimen out from under you as I don't always catch the emails in time!!
- You can pay by PAYPAL, credit card (secured), or send a check or money orders. New, established customers, must pay first. For more information on payments or shipping click here.
