Light yellow to light green minute, hexagonal crystals of Mimetite encrusting and replacing prior Cerussite sixling twins. Mineralogically a fascinating specimen. Though much of the specimen is Mimetite replacement, chemical analysis by Jensen has confirmed that much of the Mimetite at the SR mine contains sufficiant phosphate radical to be properly termed "phosphatian Mimetite". As such, some of the green "mimetite" may indeed be Pyromorphite or more correctly "arsenian Pyromorphite" as on this specimen. |
