Calcozincite #23604
|
| Franklin, Sussex Co., New Jersey, United States |
Antique Specimen Ex. Michigan College of Mining & Tech. Collection
|
| Size: Sm Cabinet |
"Calcozincite" is a combination of orange-red Zincite, white Calcite, and Tremolite. This particular piece only exhibits the typical compact fibrous texture (due to the amount of Tremolite) on the sides. The old Michigan Tech label that comes with this piece says it was donated by A.E. Seaman. Seaman was a professor and later the mineral curator for then Michigan School of Mines in the late 1800's and into the 1930's. Currently the mineral museum is named after him as is the mineral Seamanite. |
| Overall: 8 x 2 x 5 cm |
